A Perfect Fit
I decided to replace the blower motor on my 2004 GMC Canyon after dealing with the common problem of the blower working only on level 4. (Replacing the resistor and pigtail connector got levels 1-3 running, but they were all the same.)
The TYC blower motor was a perfect fit. It has a slightly different shape than the original, which actually made installing the motor easier than removing the original. The primary reason for giving it four stars rather than five is that this motor seems to be louder than the original. (I don't know that this will be noticeable when driving, however.)
If you decide to replace the motor yourself, a few tips you may find useful:
- To replace everything, first remove the glovebox. There are three screws holding the glovebox in at the bottom of the glovebox.
-The screws for the blower motor on my Canyon took a 5.5mm socket. (The resistor did as well if you are also replacing that.)
-The blower...

It works but is loud.
I bought this to replace the blower motor in my 2005 GMC Canyon because the original blower motor made a rapid clicking sound on level 1 which drove me insane. After installing this one I no longer have to deal with the rapid clicking but this motor makes a loud whining noise on all 4 levels. Obviously if you have the radio going you probably won't notice but if you are sitting still or driving with the radio off you will definitely notice it. As A. Elkins stated in his review (go read it) and I VERY STRONGLY agree with him, get an extension bar and a universal joint to go with your ratchet or you will be there all day long trying to get the back screw out. By using the universal joint you will have it out in mere seconds. Although it appears that you have to use some of the parts from the original motor such as the housing or the hose there is no need to do so, just remove the old motor and install the new one. The glove compartment does not have to be removed but it will make things...
Great Product
When I first started looking into replacing my blower motor I did a lot of research. I have a 08 Chevy colorado with a blower motor that will either work completely or not at all. I decided to order this blower motor along with the blower resistor and connector wire. After removing all the old parts I noticed that the blower motor resistor and connector were both charred on connector B. This is indicative of some sort of arcing. From what i've read, the OEM connector and resistor do not have adequate moisture shielding and will cause this. After complete install everything works great. I would recommend replacing all three: Blower motor, Blower motor resistor, and Connector.
