2005 Chevy Silverado
I purchased this to replace the OEM version on the vehicle as indicated by the TSB. To date it has cleared the P0449 code that was casuing the MIL. It doesn't include the 5/8" hose required or hose clamps. But for the price, it wasn't an issue running down the street to the auto parts store. Shipping and delivery was a little slow, but it isn't a system critical part so the wait wasn't and issue.

It Fixed the Evap Code P0449 - 2007 Silverado
When the check engine light came on I went to the local parts store and had them do a scan. Had a code P0449 for the Evap Emmission Canister Vent. To make sure the solenoid was bad, I removed the old solenoid, applied 12v, and confirmed it was dead. Installing the new one was easy. I needed about 4" of 5/8 heater hose to splice a hard plastic tube that needs to be cut and reused. After installing I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes, connected and restarted. Engine light is off.
Corrests the check engine problem
Corrects the EVAP vent valve solenoid check engine problem. All you need is this kit and about 10 ft. of 5/8th heater hose and you save yourself the cost of having a mechanic do the same thing for at least twice the cost. GM Technical Service Bulletin, can be found on web, it explains the repair process. Simply fix for any do-it-yourselfer.
