Nice air intake, a lot better then open air ones
This air intake is much quiter then the open air ones, for instance K&N is very loud, There is some highway drone, but much less then similar trucks i have driven with the K&N The intake does not come with two lids like the ad says, but amazon gave me money off. Instructions are poor, but if you can't figure it out you have no buisness under the hood of a car. One of the holes is a little off, but with some pushing it lines up. I also ordered the air scoop so well see what difference that makes. Also notable, where the intake goes to the throttle body it will not tighten to the point where it cannot be pulled off. Overall very good look under the hood.

Works well- noticed improvements right away
I installed this on a 2005 GMC extended cab Sierra 5.3L Flex, 147000 miles. Stock tune, stock tire, no lift. (Bone stock)
First thing I will note, there is a very noticeable increase in throttle noise when you put your foot in it BUT under normal driving conditions there is very little difference (sound wise) It sounds like the old 4 barrel carburetors use to sound, (remember quadrajet?)
Second, there is a large increase in throttle response, I actually have to remember to take it easier at take off, I was chirping the tires at take off at turns at first, (never did that before). I also have more getup at lower RPMs then I did before. Don't miss understand my point, there is not a huge increase in power, it's just snappier, it gets moving faster and has more punch, I attribute this to the better air flow not big HP/Torque jump.
Third, I did notice an increase in MPG, I am RELIGIOUS about tracking my MPG, I do it in extreme detail because I drive so...

Worked great very easy install. Made the truck sound a little more
Aggressive when I give it a lot of gas. Felt anlittle more throttle response as for gas mileage I don't think it changed. Overall I'm very happy with it.
